Prayer—Moving Mountains of Impossibility

Christ in Us—The Power Within
Paul encouraged the Corinthian Believers to test themselves. Then, he gave them a one-question examination: “Do you not know that Jesus Christ is in you?”
It was not a matter of faith; it was a matter of acknowledging that Jesus was alive in them. Today, many of us struggle with the same dilemma! We easily believe in the free gift of salvation, but we disregard the power of a Risen Savior that takes up residence in our lives.
Christ is in us! The One Who walked out of the grave with the keys of victory in His hand lives in us. The One Who quiets the wind and waves with a simple command lives in us. Along with John, we can say, “…He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
If the Mountain Mover is in us, those obstacles will be removed. If the Commander of Angel Armies is in us, no weapon formed against us will prosper. If our Rock and Defense is in us, we will not be moved.
Take the one-question examination today: Do you know that Jesus is alive in you? Square your shoulders. Lift your chin. You are a child of the King. If you know it, live out that truth.

Heavenly Treasures–Investing in Eternity
"Priorities seeking God first this month, when you support the ministry with any gift amount, and watch as He aligns everything else in your life".Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven… Matthew 6:19-20
Jesus encouraged us to stockpile treasures in heaven where moths couldn’t eat them, rust couldn’t corrode them, and thieves couldn’t break in and steal them. He knew that where our treasures are located is the place where our hearts are invested.
Over the last generation, a shift has occurred in our nation. Parents often are more interested in climbing the corporate ladder than building a Godly home. Fathers have abandoned their roles as spiritual leaders who train their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Mothers spend more time at the office than nurturing home and family.
In the Old Testament, Joshua issued an ultimatum to the children of Israel: “…choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…” (Joshua 24:15). The Israelites had been ensnared by foreign gods in the nations around them, but Joshua called them to choose the Lord.
Joshua’s challenge still resonates today. Will we find our treasures in earthly pursuits or will we prioritize our eternal purposes? Large salaries and success amass material things and the semblance of significance, but those things are fleeting.
Instead of focusing on the bottom line, let’s pour all of our hearts and energies into influencing future generations with the truth of Jesus Christ. Let’s lay up eternal treasures in heaven.

Chosen and Anointed–A Message of Encouragement
Chosen and Anointed–A Message of Encouragement
Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. (1 Samuel 16:13)
The anointing of God is a mark of distinction that separates every believer from the world. It activates the power of God in our lives to accomplish His will in this world.
In I Samuel 16, God commanded Samuel to anoint the next leader of Israel. He sent him to Bethlehem to find Jesse, a man with eight sons; one of them would be king!
Jesse presented his sons to Samuel, but the Lord rejected each one. God admonished Samuel, saying that He was interested in the man’s heart – not his outward appearance.
Samuel asked Jesse if there were more sons. David, the youngest, was out in the fields tending the sheep. He was something of a dreamer, musician, and poet. Samuel sent for him, and when he appeared, the Lord directed Samuel to anoint him. As the oil flowed, the Spirit of the Lord changed David forever.
Perhaps, you are feeling isolated and forgotten. Maybe you have labored unnoticed for a long time. If Jesus has found you far afield and brought you home, be encouraged that you are chosen and anointed. He sees your willing heart, and He has set you apart for His purposes.

El Shaddai-More Than Enough
EL SHADDAI-MORE THAN ENOUGH
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3)El Shaddai, the Heew word for God Almighty, signifies that He is the God Who is all-sufficient. He is more than enough.
Jesus Christ nailed your sin to the Cross. He nailed your past to the Cross. You are not a patched-up, somewhat-improved version of your old self. All the old things passed away, and He made all things brand new. You are a new creation!
He made a public spectacle of rejection at the Cross. The enemy attempts to use the past to bring guilt and condemnation. He sticks his finger in old wounds to resurrect the pain and shame. But El Shaddai is more than enough! The Cross represents our total triumph!
Satan believed that the Cross was the end, but Jesus was just getting started. When He declared, “It is finished,” Satan soon discovered that those words of finality ushered in a new beginning for us.
Shackles fell powerless. Addictions were broken. Ruined lives were redeemed. Shattered hearts were restored. Broken dreams were revived.
Every promise that He made, He has kept. Through every trial, He has been a Friend Who sticks close. He has never abandoned us in the difficult hours. He has met every deficiency. No need to ever wonder…He is more than enough.

The Power Through Trouble
THE POWER THROUGH TROUBLE
Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. (1 Samuel 16:13)The anointing of God does not guarantee a trouble-free life, but it is the power that pulls us through the trouble.
When the prophet, Samuel, anointed David as Israel’s next king, the Spirit of the Lord came upon him from that day forward. Samuel departed for home, and David returned to his father’s flocks.
Later, when an evil spirit troubled King Saul, he sent for David to play the music that soothed him. Finally, he was in the palace where he belonged! But when his father called for help, David left for home.
When Israel warred against the Philistines, David went to check on his brothers. There, the anointing rose up to defeat the arrogant Goliath with one stone. David’s fame grew, and so did Saul’s jealousy. Threatened with his murderous rage, David was forced to flee.
For years, David ran from Saul – hiding, pondering Samuel’s words, questioning his anointing. But at the appointed time, God fulfilled His promise and exalted David to king.
You are anointed for God’s purposes. Seeming setbacks do not diminish His calling for your life. In the waiting, He will strengthen and prepare you for promotion. His plan may be years in the making, but your perseverance will be rewarded.

BREAKING THE YOKE OF OPPRESSION
Breaking The Yoke Of Oppression!!!!
It shall come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil. (Isaiah 10:27)A “yoke” is a wooden bar that is lashed to the neck of an animal that enables it to bear heavy burdens and pull large loads. The farmer binds the yoke to the animal’s neck, so it cannot shake it off. Yokes often signify slavery and oppression.
In today’s verse, the prophet, Isaiah, brought good news to King Hezekiah. The Assyrian king had captured Judah’s cities, demanded exorbitant tributes, and mocked the God they served. But God promised that He would lift the burden and break the yoke!
And why would God deliver Judah? Was it for His great love? Because Hezekiah was such a deserving king? Because Judah had done all the right things in the right ways? No, the anointing oil bought their freedom!
As His children, we are His anointed. Whatever yoke Satan has bound to your neck to lead you astray and bow you under its weight, God will lift it from your shoulders.
He will not just remove it – He will destroy it! You will no longer have to carry that burden. It will no longer be a source of struggle that will affect you or your children. The anointing breaks the yoke to set you free!

God's Word–Our Unshakable Anchor
God's Word–Our Unshakable Anchor
Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven. Psalm 119:89Where do we turn in uncertain times? When life as we once knew it is no more, where do we look for stability and truth?
For the child of God, the Word of God has always been the place to turn. In its pages, we find God’s promises. It steadies our anxious hearts. It replaces fear with faith. It reminds us of the One Who swore to never leave us, that He would be our Defender.
In spite of how shaky the world may seem today, we can be certain that God Almighty still presides from His throne. Even though people may plot and plan and scheme, God will have His way (Proverbs 19:21).
We can be certain that He will provide for our every need (Philippians 4:19). He will do exceedingly abundantly above what we can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). The all-sufficient One is more than able!
We can be certain that He will protect us. He has given His angels charge over us. No evil can come near us, and no plague can get through our door when God is our refuge (Psalm 91).
His goodness and mercy will follow us – chase us down – all the days of our lives, and we will dwell safely in His arms forever (Psalm 23). Allow His Word to settle your heart once and for all!

Make It Count (2): The Bold Request of Elisha

Elijah and Elisha—A Journey of Faith
Elijah and Elisha—A Journey of Faith
But Elisha said, ‘As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!’ 2 Kings 2:2
Elijah and Elisha – the old prophet and his young successor – labored together in Israel. As Elijah’s life neared its end, he visited four significant places. He traveled to Gilgal, the place where Joshua circumcised the Israelite men before crossing into the Promised Land. The covenant required the shedding of blood and the rolling away of transgressions. Our Gilgal occurred on Golgotha where Jesus’ flesh was pierced, His Blood was shed, and our sins were rolled away. Elijah urged Elisha to stay, but he refused.
They traveled on to Bethel, the house of God – where all newborns are nurtured and the saints are strengthened. When we plant ourselves in His house, we will flourish (Psalm 92:13). Even though Elijah insisted he remain, Elisha persevered.
They reached Jericho, a place of battle. As God’s children, we also engage in spiritual warfare. We endure hardships, knowing that no weapon formed against us will prosper.
Leaving Jericho, they encountered the Jordan River, the symbol of death’s rising tide. Elijah struck the water with his mantle. The river parted, and they crossed on dry land.
When we accept Jesus, He refuses to leave our sides. He walks us through every trial and every triumph. When we reach Jordan’s banks, He will usher us into everlasting joy. He will never leave us.

Anointed by God—Fulfilling Divine Destiny
Anointed by God—Fulfilling Divine Destiny
Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. 2 Corinthians 1:21-22Elisha was Elijah’s successor – a man of God, handpicked by God, to do the work of God.
God commanded Elijah to anoint Elisha to be the prophet in his place (1 Kings 19:16). Elijah had no vote. Why is that important? If a man had chosen Elisha, he would have felt compelled to meet his expectations. When God picks and places someone, He anoints him to fulfill his divine destiny.
God sent Moses to anoint Joshua. God sent Samuel to anoint David. God, through Jesus Christ, chose Saul on the road to Damascus. If they would have been appointed and anointed by a mere man, they would have lived up to their human opinions and expectations.
However, they were empowered by God to do what no one else could do. When you are anointed by God, the walls of Jericho fall. You stand fearlessly in front of giants. You put pen to parchment in a prison cell to write, “In all of these things, we are more than conquerors through Christ…!”
You are appointed and anointed by God. His is the only opinion that matters. The only expectations you must meet belong to Him, and He has graciously equipped you for every good work. He has picked and positioned and prepared you!
