Activated Faith

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:24
Faith Unleashes Potential:
Operating In God's Likeness

Our potential is activated by faith. It is not an option; it is a requirement for the child of God. Faith is the victory that overcomes the world (I John 5:4).

In Genesis, God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness” (Genesis 1:26). The Hebrew word for likeness means “to operate like” – not to look like. How does God operate? He operates with faith. If we are not functioning like God in faith, we are malfunctioning.

For the believer, hope is based on the evidence found in the Word of God. Hope is based on the substance of what God has done in the past – knowing that if He has done it before, He can do it again in our lives.

Faith is not mystical; it is rock solid. It does not demand miracles; it creates miracles. Faith takes the first step before we know the outcome. It is not a leap in the dark; it is a walk in the light. Faith believes because of the proof in God’s Word.

Because Jesus healed, the potential to heal is inside of us. Because Jesus worked miracles, the potential to work miracles is inside of us. Faith is fact – not fiction. As children of God, we have the potential to receive whatever we ask.

The Power of God's Anointing

And you shall take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it; and you shall hallow it and all its utensils, and it shall be holy. Exodus 40:9
"Priorities seeking God first this month, when you support the ministry with any gift amount, and watch as He aligns everything else in your life".

As Moses and the children of Israel completed the Tabernacle of God, He commanded Moses to anoint the tabernacle and everything that was in it.

Every curtain, piece of furniture, article of clothing, and the priest was anointed with the oil of God. Without that anointing, nothing could be used for God’s purposes, could be close to God’s presence, or experience God’s power.  His anointing sanctified the common and made it holy.

The religious leaders of Jesus’ day relinquished the anointing for man-made rules and empty traditions. Jesus called them white-washed tombs full of dead men’s bones. Outwardly, they had an appearance of religion, but their very lives denied the validity of its power (II Timothy 3:5). They preferred the prestige and comfort of their position over the true presence of God in their lives.

Have we exchanged our pride for His power? What separates our church services from mere social gatherings? The anointing! Without it, there is no power to see the prodigals come home, to break the chains of addiction, or for the impossible to become reality.

There is no substitute for the anointing of God! It is not optional. The anointing brings power and life and an explosion of abundance.

Prayer—Moving Mountains of Impossibility

The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:16
The tragedy of our modern-day society is not unanswered prayer but unoffered prayer. God knows your every thought, need, and desire, but He is waiting for you to ask for great things. When you call on His name, do you ask God to help you find an umbrella for the storm ahead, or to help you build an ark? When you pray in faith believing, expect mighty things to happen.

The Word says all we need is faith the size of a mustard seed to move a mountain. Does the circumstance you are currently in look like a mountain of impossibility? Pray in Jesus' name. Have faith that what you are asking God for, He can and will do.

Speak to the mountain with total authority and watch as the things in your life begin to line up with the Word of God. You will start to gain favor among God and men. This doesn't mean that you will have sunshine every day, but it means that the Son will shine in your life and light your pathway. You will have the best of things in the worst of times as you trust the Savior to lead you in paths of righteousness.

"Priorities seeking God first this month, when you support the ministry with any gift amount, and watch as He aligns everything else in your life".

God is ready to remove the mountain of impossibility in your life if you will only ask.

Christ in Us—The Power Within

Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? 2 Corinthians 13:5
"Priorities seeking God first this month, when you support the ministry with any gift amount, and watch as He aligns everything else in your life".

Paul encouraged the Corinthian Believers to test themselves. Then, he gave them a one-question examination: “Do you not know that Jesus Christ is in you?”

It was not a matter of faith; it was a matter of acknowledging that Jesus was alive in them. Today, many of us struggle with the same dilemma! We easily believe in the free gift of salvation, but we disregard the power of a Risen Savior that takes up residence in our lives.

Christ is in us! The One Who walked out of the grave with the keys of victory in His hand lives in us. The One Who quiets the wind and waves with a simple command lives in us. Along with John, we can say, “…He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).

If the Mountain Mover is in us, those obstacles will be removed. If the Commander of Angel Armies is in us, no weapon formed against us will prosper. If our Rock and Defense is in us, we will not be moved.

Take the one-question examination today: Do you know that Jesus is alive in you? Square your shoulders. Lift your chin. You are a child of the King. If you know it, live out that truth.

VICTORIOUS IN CHRIST

VICTORIOUS IN CHRIST

And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit." John 20:22
"Priorities seeking God first this month, when you support the ministry with any gift amount, and watch as He aligns everything else in your life."

Jesus Christ anointed the disciples. They were filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, and they turned the world upside down with the Good News entrusted to them (Acts 17:6).

Under that anointing, thousands repented when they preached. Under that anointing, the lame went walking, leaping, and praising God. The demon-possessed were set free, and the dead were raised back to life. When Peter’s mere shadow fell on the sick, they were healed.

Under that same anointing, they were arrested, imprisoned, beaten, crucified, burned, beheaded, and stoned. Through that persecution, the message of the Cross spread like wildfire. No religious leader could shut it down. No emperor could put a stop to it. No power on earth could stand against it.

Under the anointing, we may face persecution. Struggle does not mean that we are not spiritual. Struggle means that we are flesh and blood fighting against spiritual powers of darkness that are rampant in the world. But the weapons of our warfare are mighty!

When the battle rages, the anointing enables us to fight through to the victory that is ours through Jesus. When the fire blazes the hottest, the anointing emboldens us to stand our tallest as children of Almighty God. In good times, in bad times, in all times, the anointing of God empowers us to fulfill His purposes.

The Victory of Calvary—From Defeat to Triumph

The Victory of Calvary—From Defeat to Triumph

Priorities seeking God first this month, when you support the ministry with any gift amount, and watch as He aligns everything else in your life.
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37

The day Jesus died on the Cross looked like a day of total defeat, when in fact it was a day of total victory! From a human perspective, it looked as if the enemy had won. The soldiers were mocking Him. His robe was torn and sold. The sky was gray and dismal. All hope seemed lost.

What appeared to be utter defeat was actually the portrait of sheer victory on a grand scale that the world had never before seen. That was the day you and I were set free from death, hell, and the grave, from sickness and disease. It was the day we were liberated from the chains of the past, from addiction, from every kind of hindrance that would defeat us in our daily lives.

On this day, Jesus descended from the Cross into the bowels of the earth and shook His finger in the face of the prince of darkness. He gave us all authority, on earth and in heaven. No matter what we ask for in His name, we can now have it because of the complete victory that was won on the darkest day the earth has ever known.

Think of the chains that bind you today and then look in the mirror. You are now face-to-face with your worst enemy. Yet the person you see in the reflection has been completely liberated, set free to live a life of abundance. Calvary made that possible! Today, whatever chains have shackled you to the past, whatever controls you and manipulates your life, keeping you from enjoying the goodness of the Lord…let it go in Jesus’ name. You are more than a conqueror. Live like it. Act like it. Think like it. That is what Calvary did for you.

Heavenly Treasures–Investing in Eternity

Heavenly Treasures–Investing in Eternity

"Priorities seeking God first this month, when you support the ministry with any gift amount, and watch as He aligns everything else in your life".

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven… Matthew 6:19-20

Jesus encouraged us to stockpile treasures in heaven where moths couldn’t eat them, rust couldn’t corrode them, and thieves couldn’t break in and steal them. He knew that where our treasures are located is the place where our hearts are invested.

Over the last generation, a shift has occurred in our nation. Parents often are more interested in climbing the corporate ladder than building a Godly home. Fathers have abandoned their roles as spiritual leaders who train their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Mothers spend more time at the office than nurturing home and family.

In the Old Testament, Joshua issued an ultimatum to the children of Israel: “…choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…” (Joshua 24:15). The Israelites had been ensnared by foreign gods in the nations around them, but Joshua called them to choose the Lord.

Joshua’s challenge still resonates today. Will we find our treasures in earthly pursuits or will we prioritize our eternal purposes? Large salaries and success amass material things and the semblance of significance, but those things are fleeting.

Instead of focusing on the bottom line, let’s pour all of our hearts and energies into influencing future generations with the truth of Jesus Christ. Let’s lay up eternal treasures in heaven.

TRUSTING GOD'S PLAN

TRUSTING GOD'S PLAN

In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. John 16:33
Priorities seeking God first this month, when you support the ministry with any gift amount, and watch as He aligns everything else in your life.

This world can discourage and dissuade us from being the people that God created us to be. In our key verse, Jesus encourages us to “be of good cheer” – to take courage, to be undaunted, even filled with joy!

We have all compared our lives to those picture-perfect social media families and realized that we do not measure up. Our families are imperfect, fractured, and dysfunctional. Well, take courage! We stand in good company.

God does not discount imperfect families. In fact, He has a long history of using very imperfect fathers, mothers, and children to bring about His ultimate plans for good.

He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Judah. Abraham fathered a child with the “other woman” – flawed. Isaac and Rebekah played favorites and created a family rift that lasted for decades – flawed. Jacob’s eleven sons ganged up on their young brother and sold him into slavery – flawed. Judah slept with his daughter-in-law because he thought she was a prostitute – flawed.

All broken down and messed up, but through the lineage of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Judah comes the very Son of God. So, be encouraged! A perfect God will take what the enemy intended for evil in your family and turn it to great good when you submit your all to Him.

Walking in Agreement with God

Walking in Agreement with God

Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? (Amos 3:3)

Before the Israelite leaders, Joshua made this bold declaration, “…as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua’s “me” was personal, but his “we” meant that he and his family were walking in agreement.

Agreement does not mean that we are all cookie-cutter versions of one another with no original thoughts. Agreement means that, in spite of our diversity, we understand the roles we are called to fulfill, and we sacrifice our individual plans to God’s greater plan.

Jesus did not pursue His own desires. He only spoke what the Father said (John 12:49). He only did what His Father showed Him (John 5:19). Dreading death on the Cross, Jesus prayed for another way, but He ultimately relented, “…nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will” (Matthew 26:39).

Families must come into alignment with God’s plan. The husband submits himself to God’s plan and to his wife in the same way that Christ gave Himself for the church. The wife, in turn, surrenders to the Lord and submits to her husband. When the two walk in agreement, their children learn how mutual submission accomplishes the mission.

Choose to walk in agreement with God. Let us submit to one another for the greater good of His plan and for the fulfillment of His mission.

Chosen and Anointed–A Message of Encouragement

Chosen and Anointed–A Message of Encouragement

Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. (1 Samuel 16:13)

The anointing of God is a mark of distinction that separates every believer from the world. It activates the power of God in our lives to accomplish His will in this world.

In I Samuel 16, God commanded Samuel to anoint the next leader of Israel. He sent him to Bethlehem to find Jesse, a man with eight sons; one of them would be king!

Jesse presented his sons to Samuel, but the Lord rejected each one. God admonished Samuel, saying that He was interested in the man’s heart – not his outward appearance.

Samuel asked Jesse if there were more sons. David, the youngest, was out in the fields tending the sheep. He was something of a dreamer, musician, and poet. Samuel sent for him, and when he appeared, the Lord directed Samuel to anoint him. As the oil flowed, the Spirit of the Lord changed David forever.

Perhaps, you are feeling isolated and forgotten. Maybe you have labored unnoticed for a long time. If Jesus has found you far afield and brought you home, be encouraged that you are chosen and anointed. He sees your willing heart, and He has set you apart for His purposes.

Trusting Jesus—Finding Peace in Life's Journey

Trusting Jesus—Finding Peace in Life's Journey
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in thee. (Isaiah 26:3)

Jesus didn’t die on the Cross so He could condemn us. He came to save us and grant us the peace that surpasses understanding as we navigate life’s roads to the inexplicable splendors of heaven. The half of what we will see upon our much-anticipated arrival has not even entered our minds. But until that day when we meet our Savior face-to-face, we must continue to stay the course.

We were never promised a primrose path on this earth. We were, however, promised that in Him we could find peace. If we will seek Him, Jesus will carry our burdens no matter how great our load and make a way where none seems to be. He knows our end from the beginning.

What do you need to trust Him with today? Take it to the foot of the Cross and leave it there. Don’t carry part of the problem back home with you. Leave the entire burden with God, knowing that He will not only meet your need but give you sweet rest in the valley.

El Shaddai-More Than Enough

EL SHADDAI-MORE THAN ENOUGH

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3)

El Shaddai, the Heew word for God Almighty, signifies that He is the God Who is all-sufficient. He is more than enough.

Jesus Christ nailed your sin to the Cross. He nailed your past to the Cross. You are not a patched-up, somewhat-improved version of your old self. All the old things passed away, and He made all things brand new. You are a new creation!

He made a public spectacle of rejection at the Cross. The enemy attempts to use the past to bring guilt and condemnation. He sticks his finger in old wounds to resurrect the pain and shame. But El Shaddai is more than enough! The Cross represents our total triumph!

Satan believed that the Cross was the end, but Jesus was just getting started. When He declared, “It is finished,” Satan soon discovered that those words of finality ushered in a new beginning for us.

Shackles fell powerless. Addictions were broken. Ruined lives were redeemed. Shattered hearts were restored. Broken dreams were revived.

Every promise that He made, He has kept. Through every trial, He has been a Friend Who sticks close. He has never abandoned us in the difficult hours. He has met every deficiency. No need to ever wonder…He is more than enough.

The Power Through Trouble

THE POWER THROUGH TROUBLE

Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. (1 Samuel 16:13)

The anointing of God does not guarantee a trouble-free life, but it is the power that pulls us through the trouble.

When the prophet, Samuel, anointed David as Israel’s next king, the Spirit of the Lord came upon him from that day forward. Samuel departed for home, and David returned to his father’s flocks.

Later, when an evil spirit troubled King Saul, he sent for David to play the music that soothed him. Finally, he was in the palace where he belonged! But when his father called for help, David left for home.

When Israel warred against the Philistines, David went to check on his brothers. There, the anointing rose up to defeat the arrogant Goliath with one stone. David’s fame grew, and so did Saul’s jealousy. Threatened with his murderous rage, David was forced to flee.

For years, David ran from Saul – hiding, pondering Samuel’s words, questioning his anointing. But at the appointed time, God fulfilled His promise and exalted David to king.

You are anointed for God’s purposes. Seeming setbacks do not diminish His calling for your life. In the waiting, He will strengthen and prepare you for promotion. His plan may be years in the making, but your perseverance will be rewarded.

BREAKING THE YOKE OF OPPRESSION

Breaking The Yoke Of Oppression!!!!

It shall come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil. (Isaiah 10:27)

A “yoke” is a wooden bar that is lashed to the neck of an animal that enables it to bear heavy burdens and pull large loads. The farmer binds the yoke to the animal’s neck, so it cannot shake it off. Yokes often signify slavery and oppression.

In today’s verse, the prophet, Isaiah, brought good news to King Hezekiah. The Assyrian king had captured Judah’s cities, demanded exorbitant tributes, and mocked the God they served. But God promised that He would lift the burden and break the yoke!

And why would God deliver Judah? Was it for His great love? Because Hezekiah was such a deserving king? Because Judah had done all the right things in the right ways? No, the anointing oil bought their freedom!

As His children, we are His anointed. Whatever yoke Satan has bound to your neck to lead you astray and bow you under its weight, God will lift it from your shoulders.

He will not just remove it – He will destroy it! You will no longer have to carry that burden. It will no longer be a source of struggle that will affect you or your children. The anointing breaks the yoke to set you free!
