PASSION WEEK DAY ONE

The crucifixion of Jesus, though brutal beyond our comprehension, was a beautiful sacrifice that represents the life we get to live with Him every day.

His crucifixion was a gift to the world, a gift to every one of us. The pain He bore, the punishment He experienced, though He did not deserve it, was taken on our behalf. He endured the pain of the Cross in order to draw all men unto Himself.

When we sing about the Blood of Jesus, this is what we are singing about. Our God, who willingly shed His Blood on the Cross so that we could have life, and life to the full (John 10:10). What a beautiful reason to thank Him every day. Today, let’s reflect on that truth and thank Him for the beautiful sacrifice.

However, since the fall man has been searching for God and seeking to connect with Him. Ecclesiastes 3 tells us that God has placed eternity in our hearts. That means that inside every one of us is a deep desire to know God in a personal way. Throughout the Bible, we learn that the way to the Father is through a personal relationship with Jesus. It's easy to get caught in the motions of life and religion and forget what it means to have a genuine relationship.

"And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased". Hebrews 13:16

God doesn't need our good deeds; He wants our hearts. How many times do we get caught up in making sure our behavior is right for Him? It's easy to do. We think we need to fix ourselves in order to come to Him when He really wants us to come to Him as we are. He provided Jesus as the perfect vessel for us to be able to go directly to the Father. No matter what you are facing or what you have done, be encouraged today. You can come to God just as you are, through Jesus.
